Q&A Social: Queer and Autistic Social Group WEEK 2

  • Project Home Unity 42a/142 Addison Road Marrickville, NSW, 2204 Australia (map)

RSVP HERE

Project Home Unity is super excited to announce our new social group: Q&A !! This group will be run for queer autistic adults, with funding from the Australian Government through the National Disability Insurance agency. The group will be free to access. You do not need to be an NDIS participant, or to have a formal diagnosis to access the group either.

We aim to create a safe and affirming space where queer autistic adults can socialise and engage in activities of interest in whatever way they feel is comfortable. We acknowledge that everyone has different interests and communication styles, participants can engage in the group however feels right for them. Food and drinks will also be supplied.

The group will be starting Friday the 11th of April 2025, running from 5-8pm. This group will be running weekly from this date. The groups will run on a certain theme, then switch themes every 4 weeks. The first 4 weeks’ theme will be zine making, with the following 4 weeks being a series of skills workshops. Following this, we will consult the group on what theme they would like to do. It is never mandatory to participate in any of the themes/activities. You can just hang out if you would like!

The group will run with 20 people, and two facilitators. These faciliators will be Eddie (he/him) and Cairo (they/he) to start, but Cairo will likely switch out for a different facilitator at some point. You will be notified of this before it happens.

Accessibility information

Project Home Unity has an accessible entrance that is wheelchair and mobility aid friendly. The pathways leading up to the hut are slightly uneven (gravel and grass) and may require some navigation.
